Full immersion in Nature

Extremely close to Orbetello Family Camping Village, along the Argentario coast, there are some of Italy’s most beautiful natural areas, which you absolutely must visit!

Maremma Regional Park in Tuscany

This is the most renowned of the Regional Parks and is also known as the “Parco dell’Uccellina”. Do not miss during your walking holiday in Tuscany the panoramic views from the top of the hills that stretch along the entire Tyrrhenian coast as far as the Islands of Giglio, Elba and Corsica, with its succession of various natural environments including hills, Mediterranean scrub, cultivated fields and sandy beaches.

Arcipelago Toscano National Park

This is the largest marine park in Europe and covers all the seven main islands in the Tuscan Archipelago. According to legend, the seven islands are seven pearls of a necklace that Venus, the goddess of beauty and love, lost whilst bathing in the Mediterranean Sea. The Park is the largest protected area of sea in Europe and on its area you may catch sight of a number of rare species of animals, such as the Corsican seagull, monk seal and some varieties of cetaceans.

Giglio Island

A ferry in from Porto Santo Stefano brings you rapidly to this island, known throughout the world for the wonders of its natural environment. The crystal clear, emerald green sea, with its luxuriant sea beds abounding in fish, forms the backdrop to an area that is 90% still wild, rich in Mediterranean flora, which invites you to explore the numerous little coves.

Giannutri Island

You can get to Giannutri with a Ferry from Porto Santo Stefano. The island of Giannutri is a large nature park, and it is part of the Arcipelago Toscano National Park. The two harbors on the island, Cala Spalmatoio and Cala Maestra, date back to Roman times, evident from the ancient ruins that come into view as soon as you land on the island.

The WWF Oases in the Orbetello area

Some of the WWF oases in Tuscany can be found in the area near Orbetello, Argentario and Capalbio. First and foremost, Orbetello Lagoon: thanks to its position along migratory routes it is the destination of thousands of birds (including Pink Flamingo and Black-winged Stilt), especially in winter. The reserve is the ideal place for bird watching.

Spectacular lunch… in a pine grove

Every day nature gifts us with unique views, sensations and …flavors! Eating under the trees, on the veranda of the Orbetello Family Camping Village restaurant, helps you experience that special atmosphere you only find here in Orbetello.
